BEVERAGES CREEK DAM
The Beverages Creek Dam is located in
McDougall Township near Mill Lake and the Town of Parry
Sound. The dam is a concrete water control structure
that has been constructed above a small set of rapids
where Beverages Creek flows out of Haines Lake. The
dam has one stop log bay that employs manually operated
wooden stop logs for water level control. The stop logs
are nominal 305mm timbers and the spillway opening is
relatively narrow. The structure was originally built
in its present form in 1927.
The dam site is directly accessible from
McDougall Road at the outlet from Haines Lake.
Outflow from Haines Lake enters a small creek, which
flows, to Mill Lake located about 1km downstream from
the Beverages Dam.
